LMPOA Property Owners,
I just want you to know that your LMPOA dues have gone to a great cause. Our fire truck donated by Bill Welsch and equipped with funds from LMPOA was already a successful investment for property owners. A fire in the estuary near the Kirchhoff’s Ranch was responded to last month by Bill Welsch and his son; Mike West; two workers from the Kirchhoff’s ranch and me. We were successful in putting out the fire with a single truck load of water supplied by the La Mision Water Company. With the right pressure pump, hose, nozzle and the ambitious volunteers we realized that we could not have done it without the right equipment and the Water Company.
If you have not paid your Homeowners dues then please reconsider and help us out. We are trying to do the right thing with the money collected and this is a good example of money well spent.
Bill Welsch is holding another meeting at his house this Saturday, November 7th at 4:00 pm in order to show property owners how to use the fire truck. Bill Welsch, Mike West, Tom Daniel and I showed up for the first training on how to use the equipment. We need others in case none of us are around and a fire breaks out in the neighborhood. It takes two to operate the truck.
Remember this is not only a hill fire prevention truck but for beach fire emergencies too. Two years ago before we had this fire truck, a fire on the toll road jumped our street and caught fire to some palm trees at a beach house near the guard gate. Fortunately quick action by the gate guard and the owner got the fire out, without a fire truck, before their patio cover caught fire too. Now with a fire truck, we have an even better chance to stop community fires.
The reason the LMPOA Board agreed to support the fire truck was to be able to start putting out a fire before the local fire department arrives at the scene or to put it completely out, if possible. In case of fire you should still call 066 first but then call Bill Welsch and let him know you are headed over or you can just head over if you have had the training.
Please consider attending this meeting so you can protect your own home from a fire.
What a great place to Live,
Jerry Lyndes
